Webflow AEO Alternative: What to Use If You Are Not on Webflow Enterprise
Webflow announced its answer engine optimization product in April 2026 and made it generally available in May. Everything on this page reflects what Webflow has published as of August 2026.
It tracks whether AI assistants mention your brand, finds technical problems on your site, and helps your team publish the fixes. It is a good product, and it is aimed at a specific customer: companies already on a Webflow Enterprise contract.
If that is not you, this page explains what Webflow AEO actually does, why you probably cannot buy it, and what your options are.
What Webflow AEO Does
It has three parts that work together. First, it measures: it tracks how often your brand gets mentioned or cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews, and shows which prompts you come up in. Second, it recommends: agents scan your Webflow site and flag broken links, stale metadata, missing image descriptions, and problems with the hidden code that tells search engines what a page is about. Third, it executes: your team reviews the suggested fixes and publishes them in bulk, without leaving Webflow.
That closed loop is the real selling point. Most tools stop at the report and leave the work to you.
Who Can Actually Buy It
Webflow AEO is available to Webflow Enterprise customers only. The analytics half needs the current Analyze for Enterprise tier on top of that, and executing the agents' recommendations consumes AI credits. There is no published price, and it is sold through a Webflow Enterprise contract rather than a self-serve checkout.
So there are three ways you can be locked out. You are not on Webflow at all. You are on Webflow but on a Core or Growth plan rather than Enterprise. Or you are on Enterprise but do not want to add another tier and a credit meter to the contract.
The first case covers most people reading this. If your site is not built on Webflow, Webflow AEO is not a product you can purchase, now or later. It only works on Webflow sites. Scaup covers WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow, and coded sites hosted on GitHub.
What It Does Not Cover
Two gaps matter when you compare options.
As it stands today, it does not write content for you. The agents fix what is already on your site: a weak title, a missing description, markup that is broken. If the reason AI assistants never mention you is that the page answering that question does not exist yet, tidying up what is already there will not fix it. Someone still has to write the page.
It is built around answer engines. The reporting it gives you is about AI citations, not about where you rank on Google, so you would still run your regular search work alongside it. For most small business websites ordinary Google search is still where the clicks come from.
What Scaup Does Instead
Scaup is built for the customer Webflow AEO is not sold to: founders, freelancers, and small business owners who do not have a marketing team and do not want to learn SEO.
You connect your site once. Scaup analyzes your competitors, builds a plan, and then makes one improvement a day. Better page titles and descriptions. Sharper headings and clearer copy. New pages for the searches your competitors show up for and you do not. Image descriptions, plus the technical files AI crawlers look for: robots.txt, a sitemap, and an llms.txt. Scaup writes those directly where your platform has an API for it, and hands them to you ready to paste where it does not.
On the Pro plan it also tracks your AI visibility. It counts how often Google AI and ChatGPT mention you, and once a month it puts your top questions to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity directly and records whether the answer mentions or cites you. It shows which of your pages get referenced, and which questions get answered with a competitor instead of you. That gap list feeds back into the plan, so the next pages Scaup writes are aimed at the questions where you are currently missing.
By default Scaup publishes improvements as it makes them, and emails you what changed. If you would rather check first, switch on review in your settings and nothing goes live until you approve it. Either way every change shows a clear before and after, and recent ones can be undone in one click.
Side by Side
- Who it is for: Webflow AEO is for enterprise marketing teams. Scaup is for people running their own site or a handful of client sites.
- Platforms: Webflow AEO works on Webflow only. Scaup works on WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow, and coded sites hosted on GitHub such as Astro, Next.js, Nuxt and plain HTML. New page writing is available on WordPress, WooCommerce, Wix, Webflow and Astro or HTML repos; on other frameworks Scaup improves the pages you already have.
- Price: Webflow AEO needs an Enterprise contract plus an analytics tier plus AI credits, with no public pricing. Scaup is $149 or $249 per site per month, paid by card, no sales call.
- Search coverage: Webflow AEO covers AI answer engines. Scaup covers Google search on every plan, and AI visibility alongside it on Pro.
- Content: Webflow AEO fixes existing pages. Scaup fixes existing pages and writes new ones, 2 a month on Starter and 6 on Pro.
- Effort: Webflow AEO gives your team a queue to review. Scaup runs on its own and emails you what it did.
If Your Site Is on Webflow
Scaup supports Webflow at the same price as every other platform, with no Enterprise plan involved. You connect through Webflow's own authorization screen. On Webflow, Scaup rewrites page titles and descriptions across your whole site, writes and updates CMS posts, and adds descriptions to your images.
Webflow has real limits and you should know them before you connect. Scaup cannot rewrite the body of a static page, because Webflow only allows that in the Designer and offers no API for it. Files like robots.txt and llms.txt are written for you to paste into your Webflow site settings rather than published automatically. Publishing on Webflow is site wide rather than page by page. And some Webflow plans do not include the CMS, which changes what can be edited. Our how it works section covers the rest.
If you are already on Webflow Enterprise with a marketing team who lives in the Webflow dashboard, Webflow AEO is the more natural fit and we would say so. The two are not really competing for the same person.
Which One Should You Pick
Pick Webflow AEO if you are on Webflow Enterprise, you have someone whose job is to review and publish optimization work, and you specifically want reporting on AI citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews in one place.
Pick Scaup if your site is on any other platform, if you want Google search and AI visibility handled together rather than separately, if you need new pages written and not just existing ones tidied, or if nobody on your side has time to work a queue of recommendations every week.
Webflow AEO proved something we have been arguing for a while: this work should be done by software, not by a person copying suggestions out of a dashboard. We just disagree about who gets it. Webflow picked enterprise teams. We think it is anyone with a website.

Common Questions
Is Webflow AEO free with a Webflow plan?
No. It requires a Webflow Enterprise plan. The analytics half also requires the current Analyze for Enterprise tier, and executing the agents' recommendations consumes AI credits.
Can I use Webflow AEO on a WordPress site?
No. It works only on sites built and hosted on Webflow.
Does Scaup track AI mentions the same way?
Scaup counts mentions across Google AI and ChatGPT, and each month it asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity your top questions directly and records whether the answer mentions or cites you. It shows which of your pages get referenced and which questions a competitor is cited for and you are not. Webflow tracks a similar set of assistants and shows which prompts you appear in. The difference is what happens next: Scaup turns the gaps into the work.
Do I need to know SEO to use Scaup?
No. There is no audit to read and no score to chase. You connect your site, approve changes if you want to, and get an email saying what improved.
